About Trident Technical College
Trident Technical College is a two-year college that offers diverse educational programs designed to assist students to compete in the global and technological marketplace. The school has campuses in Monck's Corner, Hollywood, and Charleston, South Carolina, with the main campus in North Charleston. North Charleston is known for its many shopping centers and malls, its performing arts center, and the 13,500 seat coliseum for the minor league hockey team the South Carolina Stingrays.
Trident Tech offers an Associate degree in film production and certificates in filmmaking and film production. This is the only two-year program in the country that trains students with 35 mm film equipment. The degree or certificate program prepares students for an entry-level position with any production company. It gives students valuable experience with hands-on work and opportunities to learn from participating in feature films, commercials, and independent films.
Students may earn an Associate degree in graphic design, which prepares them to work as commercial artists. Students must take basic drawing and computer classes and then more advanced design courses. A less rigorous certificate program in graphic design is also available.
Various certificates in design are available at Trident Tech for students interested in starting out in a design career or just learning more to enhance their current career. Earning a certificate is a good foundation for any of the Associate degree programs. Certificate programs include computer animation, computer graphics, multimedia design, photography, and web site design.
