Triangle Tech is a private, technical school offering associate's degrees and certificates in programs focused on technology and career pathways. It is located on the west side of Erie, Pennsylvania, only minutes away from downtown. Erie is an industrial city on the shores of Lake Erie and has a population of approximately 104,000. It is close to Cleveland, Ohio, Buffalo, New York, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Erie is home to the Erie Philharmonic and the Lake Erie Ballet. The Erie Art Museum on the bayfront houses largely folk and modern art and is in the former U.S. Customs House. The museum also hosts regular jazz and blues music concerts. The Warner Theatre hosts many performances each year and was recently renovated.
Triangle Tech offers an associate in specialized technology degree in architectural computer-aided drafting and design technology. In this program, students learn to take an architect's idea into technical drawings. Graduates are prepared for careers as entry-level drafters, CADD operators, specification writers, and model builders. Program coursework includes architectural drafting, residential engineering, drafting fundamentals, projection drawing, piping drawing, structural design, specification writing, and cost estimation.
Students can also earn an associate in specialized technology degree in mechanical computer-aided drafting and design technology. Students learn how to make drawings for manufacturing a product. Coursework includes manufacturing processes, machine design, drawing fundamentals, AutoCAD, advanced CADD, microstation, assembly drawing, drill jig design, technical wiring, electronic drafting, and fabrication, welding, and structural drawing. Graduates are prepared for a career in entry-level drafting, CADD operating, cost estimation, model building, specification writing, or technical sales.
The financial aid department at Triangle Tech tries to make the aid experience easy. Financial advisers are available to explain to students all the possible sources of aid and to help each find the best type. To begin the financial aid process, students must fill out the Free Application For Federal Student Aid. The financial aid office can then help students determine if they are eligible for student aid and which types of aid are best. Options for aid include federal Stafford and Perkins loans, federal PLUS loans, state aid, grants, scholarships, and private loans.
Triangle Tech is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. It is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and is authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to award associate in specialized technology degrees.
