About Southeast Technical Institute

Located near the borders of Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota, Sioux City, South Dakota is home to Southeast Technical Institute. The tri-state region offers a balanced combination of urban and rural settings and activities. A variety of water sport activities are available.

Southeast Technical Institute offers the AAS in graphic communications. The program requires the use of a MacBook Pro laptop computer. Coursework for the degree includes basic and advanced study in graphics math, digital publishing, design fundamentals, Web multimedia, design development, and portfolio design.

  • General education courses required for the degree include: technical writing, English composition, general psychology.
  • Electives include choices in principles of animation, modeling for animation, digital photography, and media writing.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in an internship program as well, with approval from the department.
