About Lynn University

Lynn University is a private, coeducational university located in Boca Raton, Florida. The university is situated on a beautifully landscaped 123-acre campus complete with seven freshwater lakes and located just three miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Boca Raton is a 30-minute drive from Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, and a 50-minute drive from Miami. The city itself is home to Mizner Park, which boasts an open-air plaza adorned with palm trees and waterfalls. Also within the park is the International Museum of Cartoon Art, displaying an expensive collection of political cartoons and comic strip exhibits. The collection has an interactive area geared toward children. Also close by is the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, twenty acres inhabited by osprey, brown pelicans and sea turtles. Night turtle-watching tours are offered during the summer. Boca Raton's most explorable beachside area is Spanish River Park, just north of downtown Boca. It contains fifty acres of vivid vegetation and high-rise greenery, penetrable only on trails through shady thickets.

Lynn offers a 4-year degree program to earn a Bachelor of Science in graphic design. As with most 4-year degrees, the core curriculum to be completed contains coursework in topics such as English composition, public speaking, computer applications, philosophy, psychology, algebra, and biology. Major requirements including drawing, design, graphics, photography, typography, and professional practices. Students must then choose courses from a list of electives in the field, including digital illustration, graphic design production, and advanced typography. All students in this field of study must complete Portfolio and Exhibition, a capstone course intended to enhance each student¡¦s portfolio. Upon completion of the course, students design and mount an exhibition of their best work.

Lynn University offers many institutional aid programs, including scholarships awarded based on merit or achievements. Scholarships offered include the Presidential Scholarship, which requires a written essay for application. The Academic Achievement and Endowed/Restricted Scholarships require separate application forms. All other scholarships available are automatically considered upon acceptance to the University and completion of the financial aid application.

Lynn University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The student/faculty ratio is 17:1. The University prides itself on its reputation as one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
