About Lee University

Lee University is a Christian-based school located in Cleveland, Tennessee, approximately 25 miles northeast from Chattanooga. Cleveland offers a small-city feeling mixed with progressive business, medical, educational, and cultural facilities all set against a picturesque backdrop. Approximately 355,000 people live within thirty miles of Cleveland. The city offers the safety, quality of life, and cost of living of a small town, with the amenities of a much larger area. Chattanooga is home to the Houston Museum of Decorative Arts, the Hunter Museum of Art, and a number of art galleries, art cafes, as well as art supply stores. Shopping and dining opportunities are abundant, with unique shops, diverse eateries, malls, a bowling alley, and a cinema.

Founded in 1918, over the past two decades Lee University has become one of the largest Christian private institutions in Tennessee. During that period the university has experienced significant growth in academic programs, student enrollment, and faculty development. situated on 115 acres and with a teacher/student ratio of eighteen to one,the university was named a "Top Tier" school in US News and World Report and has been listed among the "Best Colleges" in the Princeton Review.

Lee University's Department of Communications and the Arts offers the BA in multimedia design. Students receive training in a variety of media development, including digital photography, Web page design, editing, programming and promotion, applied broadcast media, and general design. Students maintain a portfolio of their work, which is reviewed annually by department faculty. The general education requirements for the degree include fifteen hours in Christian theology and practices. The University provides personal and career counseling to all enrolled students.

Lee University offers federal, state, and University-based financial aid to qualified students. Community and private aid programs and scholarships are also available and prospective students are encouraged to contact the financial aid office for more information and to apply early. Lee University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Bachelor¡¦s and Master¡¦s degrees. Lee also holds membership in the American Council on Education, the Council of Independent Colleges, the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities and the Appalachian College Association.
