ITT Educational Services, Inc. is a private college system focused on technology-oriented programs of study. It operates over 100 ITT Technical Institutes in more than 30 states, which predominantly provide career-focused, degree programs to approximately 54,000 students. Headquartered in Carmel, Indiana, it has been actively involved in the higher education community in the United States since 1969. ITT Tech in Nashville offers the BS in graphic design. The program is designed to help graduates prepare to pursue careers in traditional print and publishing areas and in electronic information and interactive design fields. The program emphasizes creativity, visualization and critical thinking to help graduates generate technologically appropriate, functional and aesthetically pleasing graphic design. Instruction in design theory, graphic design tools and media production is included. The program also includes hands-on applications using equipment and software.
ITT Tech in Nashville also offers the AAS in visual communications. The purpose of this program is to help students prepare for entry-level positions in visual communications related professions. The curriculum consists of a foundation core of design and general education courses, followed by studies in multimedia applications. The Visual Communications program can help graduates prepare to perform tasks associated with designing and creating interactive multimedia communications and print communications. Additional curriculum topics, investigated through classroom and laboratory experiences, include graphic design, multimedia applications and other related technical subjects.
ITT Tech offers financial assistance from various programs comprised of federal, state, and institutional funds. The programs include grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study. Prospective students are encouraged to contact the financial aid office early in order to meet important deadlines for aid. Enrolled students are provided with academic, career, and personal counseling at no additional charge. ITT Technical Institute ITT Tech is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. It does not have regional accreditation; thus, most regionally accredited or traditional universities and colleges do not accept ITT Tech's credits for transfer and do not recognize its undergraduate degrees for entry into graduate programs.
