Hardin-Simmons University is located in Abilene, Texas, a city of 120,000 citizens and home to more than a dozen centers of higher education. The city is located near the center of Texas, just 150 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Abilene preserves the traditional heritage of the old West while providing all the advantages of a contemporary city. The city is home to a number of art galleries and art cafes, as well as The Center for Contemporary Arts, which offers exposure to more than 70-artist members' work and ten working studios.
