About Casper College
Located in the second-largest city in Wyoming, Casper College sits at the foot of Casper Mountain, the north end of the Laramie Mountain Range, along the North Platte River. Casper offers a range of sightseeing and outdoor activities, including hiking, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding. The 200-acre Casper College campus was dedicated in 1955, a decade after the original location opened in Natrona County High School. A major campus expansion in the mid-1960s and several more recent projects led to today's 28-building campus.
The Casper College Visual Arts Department offers intense, quality Associate of Arts and Associate of Fine Arts degrees; graduates are well-qualified to continue in their chosen disciplines. The Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design with the success of the student as its goal. Graduates will have a basic understanding of drawing, two- and three-dimensional design, two- and three-dimensional media, and the history of art from prehistoric to contemporary trends.
The Construction Technology program will take you from the ground up in residential construction - from asphalt and concrete to framing and finish work. Students are introduced to drafting and architectural design work, surveying and blueprint reading. The drafting and design technology program includes two different tracks for students to consider. Students can complete a two-year degree and enter the job market, or complete a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as drafting, architecture, engineering, or a technology-related industry.
Casper College provides an ideal financial environment for state residents, as the tuition for these students is less than half the already low tuition rate for out-of-state students. Financial assistance programs that focus on scholarships, loans, and employment are available. Scholarships are based upon foundation (private donor) funds, athletic and activity scholarships, academic and division awards.
This school is ideal for any student who wants to build a firm foundation in the arts or in architectural design, as the cost is low and the credits can be used to transfer to another school once a two-year degree has been achieved. If the great outdoors appeals to you, then Casper College in Wyoming will provide a great place to begin your college career.
