Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The city offers historic sites such as the Bollinger Mill and Covered Bridge, Old St. Vincent's Church, and many Civil War sites. There are many parks with fishing lakes, swimming beaches and pools, sporting fields, walking trails, and golf courses. Many camps also offer campgrounds and cabins for camping. Cape Girardeau is also home to many annual events, including an indoor rodeo, wine and music festivals, and the Libertyfest 4th of July fireworks show.

CGCTC offers online career preparation courses in desktop publishing and multimedia, graphic design and offset printing technology, and design drafting and computer aided drafting. CGCTC also offers college degree programs in construction and building technology and graphic arts and printing technology. CGCTC awards certificates of completion, and students can complete additional technical course work at Mineral Area College for achievement of the 2-year AAS degree. This program is available due to the creation of the Southeast Missouri Regional Tech Prep Consortium. Other participating schools are Arcadia Valley Career Technology Center, Perryville Area Career & Technology Center, and UniTec Career Center.

Currently Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center does not offer any institution-funded scholarships. The school is "the region's premiere facility for career and technical education." It is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Student services offered include remedial assistance and distance learning options. CGCTC also provides student employment services such as career counseling and placement services for graduates. Students have access to career-related clubs on campus, including chapters of the marketing student organization Delta Epsilon Chi, Future Business Leaders of America, and Future Farmers of America. There is also a chapter of SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students preparing for careers in trade, technical, or skilled service occupations.
