The Web design option also includes creation of a student portfolio. BCTC also offers an AAS degree in computer and information technologies, with an available specialty in Internet technologies. This field of study includes program and database design, and prepares students to design, program, and maintain Internet-based services. The college's humanities department offers a filmmaking certificate program, a one-semester full-time program designed to give emerging filmmakers a hands-on overview of all disciplines of filmmaking. In addition to class work, students create a number of short pieces during the semester. BCTC also offers the only architectural technology program in the state of Kentucky. Completion of the program earns students a two-year AAS degree. Students develop the skills necessary for the preparation of construction documents, from schematic design approval into design development. Both the technical and creative aspects of architecture and computer drafting and design are explored. Prior to graduation, students prepare portfolios of work designed to convey their skill to prospective employers.
BCTC provides a scholarship Web page where students can find listings of local available scholarships for which they may apply. The college offers one annual Alumni Scholarship award.
