Ashford University is located in the small town of Clinton, Iowa, near the Mississippi River and midway between Chicago and Des Moines. Visitors to Clinton can hike or cross-country ski around a 200-acre park of beautiful bluffs along the river at Eagle Point Park, enjoy the Showboat Theatre aboard a restored paddle wheeler, or take a naturalist-led eco-cruise down the Mississippi.

Students at Ashford can choose to pursue a four-year BA degree in computer graphic design studying two-dimensional design and drawing, with areas of emphasis in animation including 3D modeling, print media including publication design, or Web design including Web publishing. A Senior Portfolio is required for graduation. A similar course of study is the BAS degree with a computer graphic design core. This program also requires emphasis in animation, print media, or Web design, with a senior portfolio required for graduation. This four-year degree is offered to holders of two-year AAS degrees to give them the opportunity to pursue a 4-year degree. Ashford also offers a 4-year BA degree in visual art, with study including two-dimensional design, drawing, painting, and photography. In this program a senior thesis or project is required for graduation.
