Academy College is a private college located in Bloomington, Minnesota. Bloomington is the largest suburb in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area in Minnesota. It is home to the largest enclosed shopping center in the United States, the Mall of America. Also close by is the Water Park of America, the ninth-largest indoor waterpark in the United States. The Hyland Lake Park Reserve is located in the heart of Bloomington, offering more than 1,000 acres of woodlands and prairie, plus six major bodies of water and several smaller ponds and wetlands. Park features include the Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area and miles of paved trails for hikers and bikers.

Graphic Design

Academy College offers a 4-year BS degree program in digital arts and design with study in drawing, graphic design, digital video and photography, and a digital arts senior portfolio required for graduation. Certificate programs, which can be completed in less than two years, are available in computer animation and design with study in both digital arts and computer animation, graphic design with study in drawing, digital illustration, layout, and design, and Web design with study in both digital arts and computer programming plus Web design courses including Web motion and production. All programs include completion of a portfolio of student work. Students may choose to continue any certificate program to earn a 2-year AAS degree simply by completing additional general education courses.

The college offers three different scholarships to students, awarding each to at least two students each year. The scholarships are the High School Ace Award, the Aspiring Ace Award, and the Academy College Scholarship. Each requires completion of a scholarship application and either a scholarship essay or a scholarship test. Students can only receive one scholarship at a time.

Academy College offers morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes taught by specialists with current work experience in their fields. An emphasis is placed on extended lab time for all areas of study, with guaranteed access to instructors during this time. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award BS and AS degrees and Certificates. Lifetime career placement assistance including career and resume counseling and employer panel discussions is offered to every Academy graduate.
