i-want-a-print announces the i-want-a-print Emerging Talent Award devoted to promoting the work of art students and/or recent graduates making the transition from the academic environment to professional careers. Finalists will have the opportunity to sell museum-quality limited edition prints of their works with the soon-to-be-launched i-want-a-student-print website, which will handle the production and sales of these editions.
Artists will enjoy profits of up to 9,600 Euros and a resulting exposure. One winner will receive a 1,000 Euros cash award as down payment on future sales. Application is free and easy to follow through with the online submission page. Results will be published mid-June, with the launch of the i-want-a-student-print website.

Textile Republic (www.TextileRepublic.com) is proud to announce their next contest entitled, “Little Logos, Little Designs - (think men’s ties).”
Textile Republic is a community-centered fashion brand that revolves around its ongoing design competitions. Winning textile designs are used to create a line of fabrics, clothing, wallpaper, stationary, and other merchandise. Winning designers receive $1,000 cash and a 5% royalty.
Designs must be submitted online by 1 June 2009. Preference will be given to submissions that tile (i.e. a seamless pattern when duplicated and placed next to itself). File must be a jpeg image no larger than 300kb. A hi-res Tiff, PSD, Illustrator or PDF file of your design is required if you win.

Create a piece of art or design to commemorate the Ellesse 50th Anniversary, inspired by the brand’s Italian heritage and sporting roots in tennis. Several categories are available, including fashion/textile print, graphic design, illustration, multimedia design and visual display design. Submit up to four works digitally. There are no presentation guidelines, by proposals should be presented in such a way that each presentation fully represents your idea.
Overall winner will receive 4,500 Euro and a VIP ticket to the Ellesse 50th Anniversary Party in Italy. Second price is 2,000 Euro and third prize is 750 Euro. Deadline is 10 April 2009. Visit the site to learn more.

For more than 30 years Plaid Enterprises, Inc., a leading arts and crafts company, has worked with designers, artists and inventors to bring some of the most innovative craft products to market. These products are found at craft and hobby stores world-wide, featured on popular TV shows and in well-known publications, and have garnered national and international recognition.
Plaid is currently accepting submissions for new product ideas and innovative crafting techniques. They also want to expand their network of freelance designers. If you have a product idea, invention or are an artist interested in working with Plaid, now it’s easier than ever to submit your work to them. Simply fill out the required information:
Tell them about yourself – background, skills, specialty, etc.
Review and agree to Non-Disclosure Agreement terms.
Attach a few images and/or photos of your work (clearly label all photos & images with your contact information)
Include any additional infomation about you or your idea.

Kentucky will host the World Equestrian Games in 2010, the first time the games have been held outside of Europe. In keeping with this event The National Quilt Museum (Museum of the American Quilter’s Society) in Paducah, KY is holding a juried exhibit of quilts about and/or depicting horses in early fall of 2010.
For submission guidelines, please email info @ quiltmuseum.org and put “2010 horse exhibit” in the subject line. Deadline for submissions is October 15, 2009.
The National Quilt Museum of the United States is a non-profit institution located in downtown Paducah, KY. The Museum is open year-round Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST; also open on Sundays 1-5 p.m. April - October. The Museum is ADA compliant.
