The Art of Photography Show 2008 is a world-class international exhibition featuring all forms of photographic art — images shot on film, shot digitally, unaltered shots, alternative process, mixed media, digital manipulations, montages, etc. The Art of Photography Show will be exhibited at the two-level Lyceum Theatre Gallery, a perfect venue for exhibiting a large showcase of awesome photographic art.
Fill out a short registration form online and then upload your digital files. Entry deadline is 1st March at 11:59 pm (PT). There are $5000 in awards.
Entry Fee: $25 for the first entry, $10 for each additional entry. There is no limit to the number of entries an artist may enter. Artists who entered work in any previous Art of Photography Show or the Art of Digital Show will receive a $15 discount towards the Art of Photography Show 2008. Visit the site to learn more.

The Johnstown (PA) Film & Wine Festival announces a call for entries for its third annual event, which is set for 10-12 July 2008. The Johnstown Film & Wine Festival is a project of the Greater Johnstown Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2006, in cooperation with the Johnstown Area Heritage Association.
Original short films of 30 minutes or less are eligible for the competition, and the entry deadline is 31 March 2008. Any original short film of 30 minutes or less is eligible for the competition, which includes cash awards. In 2008, there will be a $10 entry fee per film. Films of all genres will be accepted. All entries must be submitted on VHS or DVD, and will not be returned unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included with the submission. Promosedia invites designers to submit indoor chair designs for its Promosedia Intl. Design Competition–Caiazza Memorial Challenge. Entries will be accepted from architects, designers and students under the age of 40.
Competitors may submit a single design that is unpublished, original and technically feasible. The design must consider ergonomics, function, materials and the requirements for mass production, as well as incorporate wood. Designs for chaise longues, divans, stools, pouffes and other types of seating will not be accepted. All entries must be submitted on a CD to Promosedia by 31 March 2008. Next Generation Awareness Foundation (”NGAF”) seeks notable films and participants for its 2008 Urban Film Series programs. Urban Film Series is comprised of several highly-acclaimed film-related programs that enhance awareness and provide exposure of the arts, independent cinema, media, and the motion picture industry to under-served communities across America.
Or be a part of NGAF’s historic programs! Be a volunteer, speaker, vendor affiliate, sponsor, poet or author. Submit your film or your proposal to bring one of the Series to your area. Sign-up and get information so you can pass the word to all relevant sources, persons and organizations.

Submissions are now being accepted for consideration by the judges for the 2008 Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards. Publishers wanting to submit entries should send one copy each of the comics or books and include a cover letter indicating what is being submitted and in what categories.
The tentative categories include best single issue, best short story, best continuing comic book series (at least two issues must have been published in 2007), best limited comic book series (at least half of the series must have been published in 2007), best new series, best title aimed at a younger audience, best humor publication, best anthology, best graphic album-new material, best graphic album-reprint, best reality-based work, best archival collection, best U.S. edition of foreign material, best writer, best writer/artist, best penciler/inker (individual or team), best painter (interior art), best lettering, best coloring, best comics-related book, best comics journalism periodical or website, and best publication design. The judges may add, delete, or combine categories at their discretion. The cover letter should include both a mailing address and an e-mail address.
Entries are also being accepted for the category of best webcomic. This category is open to any new, professionally produced long-form original comics work posted online in 2007. Webcomics must have a unique domain name or be part of a larger comics community to be considered. The work must be online-exclusive for a significant period prior to being collected in print form.

Car Design News has announced the largest all-digital car design contest in the world, in association with SABIC Innovative Plastics and powered by Autodesk AliasStudio software. Car Design News Contest 2008 will be judged by senior auto design directors from major automotive manufacturers, including Martin Smith, executive vice president of design at Ford Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa, and Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and head of design at Nissan. This contest is unique as all designs will be created as virtual computer models. There are two contest categories – professional designer and student designer - with top prizes that include cash and a software license for Alias DesignStudio software.
“This is a contest created by car designers for car designers, and we expect the most skillful and creative professionals and students from around the planet to participate,â€? said Sam Livingstone, director, Car Design News. “The final digital gallery of finalists and winners will showcase some of the most exciting designs ever seen.”
