Mumedi (Mexican Museum of Design) calls designers, students, teachers, professionals and anyone interested in the subject (over 18 years of age), to participate in this International Poster Contest. Theme is “To Death with a Smile” to promote the exercise of good design, to stimulate creativity, so they might see the diversity and language richness in different cultures around the world.
Lots of prizes, and the best entries will be exhibited at the Mexican Museum of Design from October 2007 to February 2008 in the Downtown Historic Center of Mexico City. Deadline for entries is 14 September 2007. Visit the site to learn all the details.

The Rosicrucian Order is replacing the lawn areas at Rosicrucian Park, in San Jose, with California Native Plants and they invite you to participate. They are looking for a brilliant landscape design that complements their Egyptian architecture and gardens, using California native plants that require little to no water once they reach maturity.
There will be two 1st place prizes of $2,500, one prize for each area. Entrants who submit designs for both areas are eligible to win both 1st place prizes for a total of $5,000. Submission deadline - 15 September 2007. You can do it - especially if you know anything about Xeriscaping.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards program recognizes the most innovative consumer electronics (CE) products in the industry’s hottest product categories. Innovations has become a hallmark for the best designed products in consumer technology.
Featured in a special display at the 2008 International CES at Innovations Plus at the Sands, honorees receive recognition throughout the entire show and in a variety of events and press articles before and after the International CES.
Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Awards are open to all, regardless of CES exhibitor status. Entries will be accepted through 28 September with the honorees being announced at CES Unveiled@NY on 13 November at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. Visit the site to learn more.

With the release of the eagerly anticipated Joomla! 1.5, the time has come to allow one of the skilled designers in our midst to become a part of the success that will be Joomla! 1.5. The Joomla! 1.5 Template Contest is open to anyone with a passion for design and a desire to have their design seen and used by millions of people globally as they download and install the stable release of Joomla! 1.5.
The five finalists will each receive a Joomla! prize package that includes a Joomla! laptop bag, Joomla! shirt, Joomla! hat, and a Joomla! 256MB USB memory stick. The grand prize winner will have his/her template added as the third template to the Joomla! 1.5 core distribution to be downloaded in every Joomla! 1.5 package. Invista Interiors is seeking entries for the 23rd annual Antron carpet fiber Design Award, including consideration for Product Innovation and Sustainable Flooring Performance honors.
“This is an excellent opportunity for firms, designers and architects to be recognized by industry peers for excellence in design and product development,” noted Bobby Berrier, an Invista vp. “Each year we are amazed by the innovative ways in which the rich colors and textures of Antron carpet fiber come to life in the hands of these talented designers. Work of this caliber helps shape the future of commercial design.”

With the aim of cultivating and supporting youngsters who are interested to be designers as their future career, in conjunction with Grossé, the worldwide renowned fashion jewelry brand, the winner will be awarded to put his/ her design in production and launch it as part of the Grossé Spring / Summer 08 Collection.
The competition is open to all students who are required to provide evidence supporting their student status (e.g. student ID). Enter a jewelry set with a combination of three kinds of jewelry pieces: e.g. Necklace, bracelets, earrings, rings, brooches and so on. The prizes aren’t shabby - the “Champion” wins US$4,000, award certificate, and a place in the Grossé Centenary Show as part of the Grossé 2008 Spring/Summer Collection.
