Aspiring designers have a chance to win full graphic design scholarships worth more than $100,000 towards an online education at the International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT).
The IADT Online Design Your Future scholarship contest, co-sponsored by Adobe Systems Incorporated, a leading provider of creative software solutions, opened yesterday (12 September) at IADT Online’s new social networking community, VisualDiner (www.VisualDiner.com). If you’re an eco-minded fashion designer, you need to participate in The Afterlife! AIGA San Francisco is currently rounding up green artists/fashion designers/graphic designers to participate in its 2007 Gala event with the main focus being a recycled paper fashion show/auction.
All submissions must be made from a recycled paper product (paper that’s used before). The deadline for submission (preliminary sketches) is 29 September 2007, so sign up or pass this on to anyone who might like to participate. Proceeds go to AIGA San Francisco. Visit the site to learn more.

Participants in this contest may base their entries on the theme of their choice, although ideally they will reflect corporate issues of the organising company, principally relating to its white wines of the Albariño variety Terras Gauda and AbadÃa de San Campio wines. Credit will be given for creativity and the incorporation of the Company’s logo into the design. This competition is open to any natural or corporate person subject only to the restrictions imposed by current legislation.
The works are to be sent to Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., at the following address: Carretera de Tui-A Guarda, km. 46, O Rosal - 36760 Pontevedra, Spain, before 6 p.m. on 30 September 2007. For the first time in cycling history, a fan will design a professional team jersey. Slipstream’s “Get in the Slipstream” contest will allow fans to submit design ideas for the official 2008 Team Slipstream/Chipotle jersey. The winning design will become the official team jersey, worn by the team in and out of competition for the entire 2008 season. The winner will also receive a full team kit and jersey autographed by the team members. A panel of judges, including Doug Ellis and Jonathan Vaughters, will select the top 5 jersey designs on 21 September 2007, and the public will then be invited to vote for the winning jersey.
