Landscape Architecture Europe are calling for the best plans and projects from 2005 to 2007 to be submitted by 5 October 2007. Priority is given to implemented designs and, if not realised, to strategic plans. All kinds of projects are eligable: gardens, parks, public space,rural landscapes, town planning projects and regional plans. The projects have to be commissioned projects.

Special attention will be given to designs on a regional scale, designs aiming at the transformation of historic sites and of historically significant cultural landscapes. Each competitor can submit up to three projects, not longer than six pages of A4 with text in English.

The shortlisted projects will need to be accompanied by materials in printable high quality formats and recent royalty-free photography. The designs aiming at the transformation of historic sites and of historically significant cultural landscapes will also be selected for the Triennial Apeldoorn 2008.

This is O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar’s 9th annual photography competition – which has gone online for the first time. This year’s theme is “Living Earth.” Six winners will be chosen and each will each receive a top of the range digital camera and the chance to have their photograph made into postcards which will be freely available to customers in 300 O’Briens Sandwich Bars worldwide. Winners will be chosen based on their interpretation of the theme.

Concepts for a new generation of passenger shelters for London’s bus network are being sought by Transport for London, with the support of Design for London, with the launch of a design competition.

Product designers and architects are invited to submit designs for technology driven bus shelters, providing improved lighting and display spaces. The shelters will also support CCTV and Public Address systems, with the option to fit further electronic media devices.

This is an invitation to submit entries to the 50th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Illustrators. All commissioned work whether published or not, should be entered in one of the first six categories: Sequential, Editorial, Book, Advertising, Institutional, and Uncommissioned. Works selected by the juries will be shown at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street, from 30 January to 26 April 2008. The entire show will be presented in full color in ILLUSTRATORS 50, “America’s Original Annual of Illustration.” A selection of 40 works will tour U.S. colleges through June 2009, the 27th educational traveling exhibition.
