Enterprise Mauritius invites jewelry designers to participate in the Mauritian theme jewelry collection design competition. Enterprise Mauritius has been entrusted to be the lead agency for the implementation of several projects of the Empowerment Programme more particularly for the development of the jewelry sector.

The competition is open to artists, designers, enterprises, artisans or any individual. Foreigners wishing to participate are advised to seek partnership with a Mauritian national. Designers should keep in mind that the jewelry will be made in gold, silver, other precious metals and may include precious and semi-precious stones and such. Use of natural products is an element to be considered within the design.

Entrants to the competition must send their design renderings together with the official application form and Benefit Sharing Agreement to Enterprise Mauritius to be received on or before

NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications) today announced the call for entries for the 14th Annual NAMIC Vision Awards. Original programs that aired on cable networks between 1 October 2006 and 30 September 2007 are eligible. Entries received by the 31 October 2007 deadline will be considered for nomination. Now in its fourteenth year, the NAMIC Vision Awards is the only celebration recognizing the cable industry’s commitment to quality, original programming that reflects the world’s rich, multi-ethnic populace. Submissions are welcomed in fourteen award categories. Winners of the 2008 NAMIC Vision Awards will be announced at a luncheon ceremony scheduled for 16 April 2008 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

This entire month of October, Drawn! and their friends at Bountee are teaming up to offer a fun contest to get your creative juices flowing. From now until October 31st they’re asking you to submit shirt designs to bountee.com based upon the theme of ‘creativity and inspiration‘. The da Vinci Film Festival started in 2000 with the screening of a handful of animated films. Today, their 3-day celebration of independent film draws over 6,000 filmgoers. Now, they want your films for the 2008 festival. Award winners are chosen from each film category, as well as a special “Spirit of da Vinci” award which is awarded to one film out of the entire festival. For the 2008 Film Festival they will accept films of all styles and genres, short films as well as feature length; however, they are especially interested in showing a block of Science Fiction Films at this year’s festival. Nominations are currently being accepted for the 35th Annual Annie Awards. Honoring excellence in the field of animation, the Annie Awards are presented annually by the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood.
