The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group has announced a call for entries for the 2006-2007 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Television. Awards will be presented for Outstanding Creative Achievement For an Interactive Television Program or Series and Outstanding Creative Achievement For an Interactive Television Service. LA Center for Digital ArtEnter this juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of 2D artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. The competition is international, open to all geographic locations.

Special consideration will be given to all entrants for inclusion in future shows at LACDA. Many entrants from past competitions have already been included in exhibits. Deadline for entries: 27 May 2007. Visit site for details.

Mountain Games Wants Photos, Films

The Mountain Games are inviting artists with a passion for photography, film, the outdoors and laughter to enter to the ’07 Mountain Games Photography Competition and the Mountain Games’ DeLaVergne Filmmaker’s Shootout. The event promotes the adventurous spirit of the outdoors and provides an awesome opportunity for artists of all levels to showcase their talent to outdoor enthusiasts, industry leaders, media and have a chance to win cash prizes. Filmmaker’s Shootout - They are looking for short, 3-5 minute films that represent elements of the mountain/outdoor lifestyle. Documentary, drama or mockumentary, they want to see what makes you tick in the world of outdoor adventure and lifestyle. The winning team will receive $2,500 and the High Side of Good Award. This award is in honor of friend and filmmaker Daniel DeLaVergne and will forever be a tribute to Daniel’s great work and friendship. A blind jury will select the three top films, which will be voted on by the public to determine the winner. Voting on the final three films will begin 1 June and close 4 July, at which point a winner will be announced and the film will be featured on outside.away.com (Outside Magazine’s website). Photocomp - photographers are invited to submit photos in six categories: water, ice/rock, trail/dirt, mountain wildlife, mountain landscape, and mountain living. Photos will be judged by the public and a professional jury. A $5,000 cash purse and publication in Outside Magazine are up for grabs. Photos can be submitted for $10 per shot. Photos must be submitted by 11 May 2007.

The Webby Awards and Adobe are proud to announce the Webby In-Motion Contest, an amazing opportunity for you to use unlimited creative license with Adobe software and wow the Webby community with your motion graphics talent.

Contestants can produce one or more 20-second video category IDs that will be shown at the 11th Annual Webby Awards Gala in NYC. Entrants will animate, illustrate and bring to life their vision of 10 Webby category clusters including Entertainment, Society, Advertising and Mobile.
