The Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) has announced their call for entries for the 2008 ADDY Awards. The annual competition recognizes creative advertising excellence in the Caribbean in all media — print, broadcast, multi-media, online, out-of- home and public service advertising.
The ADDY Awards competition is a three-tier local, regional and national competition, conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Local winners from the CAF will compete in the American Advertising Federation’s 4th District competition in Florida. The winners
of that competition will then be eligible for the ultimate prize — a National ADDY Award, announced in June 2008.
A distinguished panel of advertising experts will select winners from an expected 400 plus entries from the around the Caribbean on 16 and 17 February 2008. The top judges in the field of advertising will include Mike Weber former ADDY National Chairman and owner of an award-winning digital broadcast studio, CMR Studios in Tampa, Florida; and Tony Pearman, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Access, a national award-winning full-service advertising, design and public relations firm, as well as former National ADDY Chairman, among others.
Last year’s winners included regional and local firms from Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. Ten District ADDYs were won by CAF members. McCann Erickson Trinidad was the first agency in the history of CAF to win a National ADDY.
Entry fees for Ad Club members are $57 for single entries and $72 for campaigns. Non-member fees are $112 for single entries and $142 for campaigns. Annual corporate membership is $150. Top local winning entries will be forwarded to the regional competition without additional fees.
To be eligible, all work must have been published or aired between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007.
