Internet users from all over the world are being given the chance to design a new logo (mascot) for the social bookmarking portal.
Mister Wong is on the search for a new logo. In a worldwide contest, Europe’s largest social bookmarking service is searching for a new optical identity. On all six portals in Chinese, Russian, French, German, Spanish, and English, web designers, graphic artists, and anyone interested are being called upon to participate in one of the biggest ‘crowdsourcing’ actions so far. After a user voting, an international jury will choose the top three designs. The winning logo will be used on all of Mister Wong’s international portals and the winners will receive $12,000 altogether.
As a true web2.0 service, the social bookmarking portal wants its users to take part in the decision process, “We felt that a worldwide contest was the best way to get our users involved in the design and the decision of our new logo,” stated Founder and CEO of construktiv, Kai Tietjen.
Interested participants can register on the website

Mister Wong
In March 2006 the German version of the social bookmarking portal Mister Wong (www.mister-wong.de) was launched online. Since then, the portal has seen a rapid expansion, is the market leader in Europe and number two worldwide in social bookmarking sites. In Germany, the portal belongs to the top 50 visited websites. Over 2 million bookmarks have already been saved by users. In July, the service had 2.4 million unique
visitors in Germany alone.
Social Bookmarking
Mister Wong allows websites to be saved with tags. With an account, one has access to their bookmarks anywhere online, whether at home, university, internet cafe, or work. Through the saved bookmarks of all users, a human regulated directory of websites is created, which can, in many ways, deliver better search results than the classical search engines.
