It’s that time of year - time to check with your local county boards to find out when and where your local county fair will take place. You might be surprised at what types of competitions you’ll discover, such as the ones listed at the Marin County (California) Fair’s photography competitions. Unlike some county fairs, this competition will accept entries from all U.S. residents.

Celebrating this year’s theme of “Aquatic Adventures,� the 2007 Marin County Fair has announced an underwater photography competition. Only images taken along the California coastline are eligible for the separate print and digital categories, and the deadline for entry forms is May 17, 2007 (with the actual entries due June 14).
