The DDR&E Prize is the Department of Defense’s Program that promotes the use of inventive and novel approaches to solve problems of U.S. military interest. The Department seeks the ideas of traditional and non-traditional performers from the public, academia, the commercial sector, alike.
This prize program draws upon innovation from a broad range of sources to provide superior technical solutions for the individual energy needs of Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors in the field. They seek a wearable power system that lasts four days and reduces the weight of the battery load typically carried by those in the field.
