Oh my gosh. Summer is over and Frank and I missed the Fall Equinox celebration in Santa Cruz. *sigh* Yet Frank persists in wearing his flower face in hopes that he will pass for a snowflake. He has more creativity in his little nose than I do at times in my whole body. I swear.
Which brings me to Microformats. I’m not sure what this is all about yet, but if anyone wants to sum it up for me I would be extremely grateful. All I know is that it’s not a new language and that it’s supposedly extremely accessible. Fill me in!
Frank is visiting from Webshots. Have a great weekend!

The international human rights organization, the Society for Threatened People (GfbV), engages itself for persecuted and endangered ethnic and religious minorities, nations and native inhabitants since 1968. It lobbies for victims of humanitarian crimes against humanity and clearly names perpetrators as well as accomplices. Even if victims become offenders themselves, they nevertheless continue to report. Their guideline reads: ‘blind on no eye’.

Collab will hold its Fifteenth Annual Student Design Competition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Monday, 12 November 2007. This year’s competition is being held in conjunction with the celebration of Collab’s new gallery in the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building–the first gallery in the Museum’s history to be dedicated permanently to modern and contemporary design. The opening exhibition, Designing Modern: 1920 to the Present, takes a chronological look at the Museum’s collections of modern and contemporary decorative art.
As always, the theme of the Student Design Competition is linked to Collab’s largest annual event. This year, students are asked to consider the scope of the Modern Design dialogue. The challenge is for students to design a “map” that links associations between people, things, or events within the context of revolutionary ideas and trends in art, architecture, and design. The map should communicate the the interpretation of the forces which flowed into, through and around modern design.
- First Prize - $1000
- Second Prize - $750
- Third Prize - $500
Deadline is 12 November 2007. Visit the site to learn more.
