Mumedi (Mexican Museum of Design) calls designers, students, teachers, professionals and anyone interested in the subject (over 18 years of age), to participate in this International Poster Contest. Theme is “To Death with a Smile” to promote the exercise of good design, to stimulate creativity, so they might see the diversity and language richness in different cultures around the world.
Lots of prizes, and the best entries will be exhibited at the Mexican Museum of Design from October 2007 to February 2008 in the Downtown Historic Center of Mexico City. Deadline for entries is 14 September 2007. Visit the site to learn all the details.

The Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Awards is an international competition arranged by MindTrek, Nokia and Tampere Region Centre of Expertise in Ubiquitous Computing.
The purpose of the competition is to encourage makers of digital media to generate ideas and develop new and innovative ubimedia products & services. The entries are expected to take a stand on the following questions:
- How does ubiquitous computing affect media environments?
- What are intelligent media environments like?
- What will the location- and context-aware media services of the future be like?
The total award sum for the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek competition category is 7 000€. The sum can be awarded to one entry, divided between several entries or not awarded at all if the award criteria set by the jury are not fulfilled.

The 24-hour fast film competition known as The Shoot Out Boulder has announced a call for team entries. The Shoot Out Boulder, which takes place 12 - 13 October is now in its fourth year. It is the first annual 24 hour competition of its kind in the United States, and was voted the Best Film Festival 2007 by Westword. The Shoot Out Boulder challenges filmmakers of all experience levels to trust their courage, imagination and determination to make a seven-minute-long film in just 24 hours.

Kokoromi collective has a challenge for game designers: design a simple, pick-up-and-play game that has a resolution no greater than 256 X 256, and that must run on Windows XP and use an xbox360 controller. Anime Music Videos (AMVs) are remixes of anime and music pulled together from often divergent sources into astonishing works of art filled with action, drama, comedy, romance, and always a lot of heart. And the inaugural New York Anime Festival is proud to play host to a competition between the editors, storytellers, and artists that are AMV makers — with the winners taking home prizes from sponsors including Bandai Entertainment, Central Park Media, Classic Media Group, Del Rey Manga, and Media Blasters.
