+DESIGN is a new Icograda program that collects inspiring design solutions. It’s about leading creatively and celebrating creative problem solving that makes a difference. Icograda is inviting submissions that showcase unique design solutions to complex communications challenges. “We are hoping that both our members and the public will get involved in identifying projects that exemplify Icograda’s ideals of leading creatively,” says Don Ryun Chang, Icograda’s President Elect.

The online component of the campaign will include both an archive of the case studies and a blog to promote dialogue about the notion of leading creatively.

The program was developed by Rethink Advertising in Vancouver, Canada. “I want to acknowledge the work done by Ian Grais and the team in Vancouver to develop this idea,” said Chang. “From the original concepts through to the final execution, they’ve captured the spirit of Icograda and its mission.”

“Through this program, we’ll continue to build the library of case studies showcasing how communication design contributes to improving our surroundings,” says Icograda’s Managing Director, Brenda Sanderson. “It is a great way to acknowledge exceptional work being done internationally by our members and to illustrate the impact of communication design to the public. Just as our on-line Galeria has become a great example of the cultural diversity within the design community, we hope +DESIGN will become a resource of socially responsible design projects. The blog will offer designers, students and anyone interested in the topic to discuss how design can make a difference.”
